Stranger in the Woods!

Molly from the Prairie Wetlands came to visit today!
She brought a book and a whole tub of interesting things with her!

What kind of bird is this?
Inspecting an owl feather!
(Another friend announced during this time, "We are going to have to really wash our hands because my mom taught me that bird feathers have A LOT of germs!")

Muskrat!

A closer investigation! (How many hairs does a deer have?)
Way too many to count!

Taller, Shorter or the same?

Last week we learned that Emperor penguins were the largest type of penguin!
Mrs. Nelson made an Emperor penguin (the average size of one) so that we could see if we were taller, shorter, or the same size.

We couldn't believe that a penguin could be that big!

Pet Adoption Day!

Filling out our adoption certificates!
(We had to fill in information about ourselves as well as our new family members!)

We made our dogs some toys and got their food and water ready!

We even made dog houses for our puppies!
We are great builders, don't you think so?

Responsible dog owners ALWAYS bring their pets to the veterinarian!
We had puppies with broken tails, tummy aches, hurt paws, and so much more.
Good thing we had people to help us take care of these problems.

Taking their dogs for a walk!
Pets need exercise!

Look at how amazing our writing is becoming!

All of the new pet owners!

Dog bone sight word game!

Fun with Words, Letters and Numbers!

Ipods!
(working on math and literacy games)

"Reading the Room"
(with our cool glasses!)

Stamping out CVC words!
Can you read the words they made?

Whisper Phones
(We are getting really good at sounding out words and figuring out if they are real words or nonsense words!)

Magnifying Sight Word Search
